Our mineralized clay is a ready to mix mineral substrate made for springtail cultures. It gives a base that keeps a culture humid and stable for longer.
The clay holds water and releases it slowly, so the container dries out less between mistings and humidity stays more even. Its mineral blend helps keep the substrate from becoming acidic as food and waste build up. The surface gives springtails a firm place to feed and lay eggs, so colonies stay productive,
Use it to start new cultures, refresh old ones, or as a mineral layer in bioactive enclosures. One 500 g pack is enough for 5 cultures in 1000 ml containers.
