Wood Wool (Excelsior) for Fruit Fly Cultures

Wood wool (excelsior) is a 100% natural wooden fiber material used as a structural substrate in fruit fly cultures. It provides a stable surface for flies to walk, climb, and rest on inside culture containers.

Usage Efficiency

Approximate capacity depending on package size:

100ml– sufficient for approx. 6 cultures

250ml – sufficient for approx. 15 cultures

500ml – sufficient for approx. 30 cultures

750ml - sufficient for approx. 60 cultures

1000ml - sufficient for approx. 75 cultures

Increases usable surface area inside the container

Prevents flies from drowning in the culture medium

Separates flies from moist food

Supports cleaner and more stable cultures

Fibers 1–2 mm wide provide an ideal climbing structure
